Notable Yorkshire Families
Many of the heritage sites are connected with specific families. Just a few (more to follow) of the recorded Yorkshire families include -

There are also 19th century works that cover just Yorkshire. Some of these have now been digitised and made available online. “Pedigrees of the County Families of Yorkshire” compiled by Joseph Foster is one - and it provides a massive reference source for anyone researching notable Yorkshire families. Search online for free copies to download - but note that several companies are republishing out of print books, and public domain works, at high prices but at no better quality.
Also note that the work runs to three volumes - even though I cannot find volume 1 which contains the first half of the West Yorkshire families. And some of the original pedigree sheets were very large; so digital copies may not have enough resolution to read the actual family entries; which defeats their objective!
From personalities to politicians there are plenty from past and present - but that’s enough p’s. Not only are there statues and plaques to famous Yorkshire men and woman of the past but there are awards for today’s achievements. More>>
